Free tracks galore – new LJ Kruzer and TCFOK for download

A shameless label-spamming repost…. I would highly recommend giving the LJ Kruzer tracks a listen though if you like ambience. They’re ace (though not a patch on the album which is absolutely brilliant). I’ve not listened to the CFOK stuff yet so I can’t say what that is like, but it’s bound to be interesting…… anyway…. quotes on.
Uncharted Audio are proud to present you with a whole bunch of new FREE STUFF to promote its current and upcoming releases.

All the mp3 downloads are totally free if you want the 128’s. If you want a heftier format, you have the option of paying money (you decide how much) or entering a zero amount and giving us your email address instead.

So what have we got for you?

Part 0 of ‘Sunflowers‘, a frankly uncategorisable 5 part series brought to you by The Council Flats of Kingsbury. Your best bet is to get in a darkened room and turn it up loud. Part 1 to follow next week, with each ensuing part in the weeks after, all leading up to the release of the super limited debut LP next month.

Next up, the long awaited return of LJ Kruzer.

“LJ Kruzer and Uncharted Audio present the Tam Variations, eight engaging experimental versions of Tam, a piece which features on Kruzer’s forthcoming album Manhood & Electronics. Each variation is the end result of methodical sequences of sound processing exploring all the possibilities of computer manipulation of digitised sound data – stretching, squashing, restretching and resquashing giving the concertina’d timbres of Tamz; filtering, distorting and reverberating backwards and forwards to create the rough textures of Tamx and Tamxr; modulating brown noise with the source audio to give Tamb; and simple stretching and reverberating resulting in the billowy melancholy of the collection’s opener Tam814.

Manhood & Electronics is set for release as a CD and download on Uncharted Audio on June 29th 2009.”

Finally, we have two new exclusive tracks from Line.

One is a cover and the other is a remix by the incredibly talented up-and-coming techno producer Cyan341.

Couple of free downloads/upcoming show

I’ve got a couple of new things up for free download here .

First up is cyan341’s frankly awesome remix of ‘Number 1′… it’s a 9-minute dub techno masterpiece frankly.

Also there’s a Buddy Holly cover, of ‘Love is Strange’… I did it for Nottingham’s ace ‘Jumpers for Goalposts’ night a couple of months back. It’s been reworked a bit from the version that happened there mind…

Also, I am playing at Broadway cinema/cafe bar on May 16th. Yes.

Line Band!

On Sunday I had the first rehearsal with my LIVE BAND.

It won’t sound the same as the record but the spirit will be the same. They won’t be playing with me all the time, only for some shows, but it’s looking good….

The band features:

Mr. Christopher Baldwin on guitar, possibly best known for playing in Hirameka Hi-Fi, and now, among other things, of the band Yonokiero (whose album has just come out on Front and Follow and is good.)

Mr. Matt Southall aka  Spandex on the synthesizer. He has done several 12″s of wonderful techno under that name.

Mr. Darren Simpson, who I had the pleasure of playing with in Savoy Grand, on the drum kit.

Mr. David Gray, from my old band Seachange, on guitar and ‘vibes’.  Dave also did the artwork for my LP.

Basically, these are some serious people and I am very pleased to have them playing my music. It ought to be good times.

If you would like to book the Line band (or indeed just me on my own) for your birthday, wedding or bar mitzvah then please email johnpower@gmail.com

Couple of gigs coming up

First off, I’m playing Liars Club February 6th at the Chameleon Arts Cafe in Nottingham with Future Islands and Cowtown, with DJ sets from bloggers 20jazzfunkgreats and also from Lovvers.

Then next I’m playing at Islington Academy on the 5th of March with Crazy P and Shock Defeat, and my good friends from ace blog Slutty Fringe will be DJing.  I have a couple of tickets to this show to give away: mail line@anytwopoints.com with the subject title ‘Crazy P competition’ and the first two names out of the proverbial hat will win said tickets.

Alternatively, you can buy tickets for the show here.
